The Bartons arrived in Bordeaux in 1722 as wine merchants. Anthony Barton, born in Ireland in 1930, took over in 1983 and made the Saint-Julien estate internationally famous; he died in 2022. His daughter Lilian and her children now run it. Fifty hectares of gravel, nearly half farmed organically. This second wine comes from younger vines.
